Here are some common questions and tips to help make your trip to our store more successful!

AMAZON.com RETURNS / QR CODES:

Amazon.com QR codes don’t work at our store. Amazon and UPS have an agreement that allows QR code scanning & packaging of returns for UPS Store franchises only. Although we are an authorized UPS shipper, Send It is not a franchised “UPS Store”, so we aren’t allowed to utilize the QR code return method.

Instead, please follow these instructions:

  1. Start a return (or Cancel your existing return – go to your items, find the product, then select “View refund/return status” cancel and confirm. Then press the back button.
  2. Submit your return: selection reason for return (“Inaccurate Web Description”), then select refund option, then select “2 Other Options” then “UPS Dropoff Point” (required box & label).
  3. Print and apply that label and bring your item to our store.
  4. Or, for $2 printing/taping fee – you can email the label to our store. Select “Email a Copy” and then enter our email in the “Send to a Friend” field and confirm.     SendItNow507@gmail.com


CABLE COMPANY RETURNS:

Some cable companies (Comcast, Frontier, Spectrum) have a fulfillment agreement with UPS Franchise Stores where you can bring in your items without a box or label and have the store package & send for free. However, Send It is not a franchised UPS Store, so we can’t fulfill these cable company returns as they state. 

Instead, please call the company and tell them that the nearest UPS store is 80 miles away and ask them to send you a return label. Then, once you receive that return label, you can bring the item to our store to be shipped out.

  • UPS® Ground – 4:00pm 
  • UPS® Next Day Air – 4:00pm
  • FedEx® Ground – 2:30pm 
  • FedEx® Express – 3:00pm
  • USPS® – 12:00pm
  • Spee-Dee Delivery® – 4:00pm
  • DHL® – the following morning

These times are approximate – sometimes the carriers arrive earlier. If you need your package to go out, we recommend dropping off at least 1 hour before the times listed above.  

FAXES / PHOTOCOPIES / SCANS:

Send It accepts faxes – send and receive for a fee. The number associated with that service is: 507-929-9242 Our team will send your document for you.  

Send It can provide photocopies or scans in either black/white or color in standard sizes (letter, legal 11″x17″). 


NOTARY SERVICES:

Send It offers notary services. Please call 507-532-4482 to schedule a time to ensure our notary is available. 

UNATTENDED DELIVERY SERVICES:

Send It offers unattended delivery services. If you are traveling/gone and need a package delivered (wine, etc.), you can have it shipped to Send It and we’ll sign for it and hold it until you return. There is a holding charge for these services, please call 507-532-4482 to schedule this option. 

Packaging services:

Our shipping specialists can help package up your item with our expertly selected materials – bubble wrap, peanuts, quality packing tape, glass wrap and more.  Call us or bring your items in to have us take a look and provide you with a packaging solution and estimate!

Boxes and packaging for purchase:

Send it offers a wide variety of boxes for sale in order to help ship your item safely to it’s destination. Our smallest size is 4″ x 4″ x 4″ and largest is 36″ x 36″ x 36″ with a wide array of options in between including overnight envelops, padded envelopes and poly bag mailers.

Prohibited items:

Certain items are prohibited from shipment, these include (but are not limited to): cash (bank bills, notes or other currency), fire arms (without FFL), alcohol, tobacco, narcotics, hazardous waste, human remains, explosives, fireworks, gasoline. There may be labeling requirements for many items including certain chemicals and perishable items. If you have an item that is question – please contact us to discuss prior to bringing the item to our store.

Shipping insurance:

Most purchased shipments (excluding free return labels) with UPS and FedEx include $100 of carrier insurance.  Send It offers the option of purchasing additional shipping insurance to protect valuable shipments against loss or damages.  At the time of shipment, ask about your insurance options.

PACKAGE TRACKING:

When you ship with Send It, you receive tracking numbers for each package. Please wait 24 hours (or 1 business day) for initial tracking information to be updated. Here are the links for carrier tracking:  


SHIPPING ESTIMATES:

Send It is happy to provide shipping estimates; however, please note that estimates are non-binding and should not be considered formal quotes. Final rates are determined at the time of shipment based on actual dimensions, weight, destination, and carrier pricing. The most accurate way to receive an estimate is by bringing your package into Send It, where our team can provide real-time shipping options using exact rates. If calling by phone, you will need to provide the package’s dimensions (length x width x height), weight, and full destination address, including ZIP or postal code. Without this information, we are unable to provide reliable estimates.

🌎 International Shipments

International shipments often require additional documentation and are subject to the regulations of the destination country.

  • Customs & Duties: It is the shipper’s responsibility to comply with the customs requirements of the destination country.
  • Required Information: Some countries now require recipient tax ID numbers (e.g., Mexico requires an RFC). Missing or incomplete information can cause packages to be returned or delayed.
  • Restricted/Prohibited Items: Items prohibited in the destination country may be confiscated or returned.
  • Non-Refundable Fees: Shipping charges are non-refundable if a package is returned due to:
  • Incorrect or missing recipient information
  • Failure to provide required customs documentation or tax ID
  • Recipient refusal
  • Duties or taxes not paid
  • Shipment of prohibited items

We’re happy to help complete customs forms based on the information you provide, but ultimate responsibility lies with the shipper.

📬 Domestic Shipments

Most domestic shipments arrive without issue, but here are a few common problems to be aware of:

Common Issues to Avoid:

  • Incorrect Addresses: A missing apartment number, incorrect ZIP code, or misspelled street name can result in delays or returned packages. Always double-check before shipping.
  • Unattended Deliveries: If the recipient isn’t home and no safe location is available, carriers may hold the package for pickup or attempt redelivery.
  • PO Box Restrictions: Some carriers (like FedEx and UPS) cannot deliver to PO Boxes. USPS is the best option in those cases.
  • Package Refusals or Returns: If the recipient refuses the package or does not claim it, it may be returned. Return shipping fees may apply and original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Prohibited Items

Each carrier has a list of prohibited and restricted items. Shipping any of the items below may result in confiscation, return, or legal action. It is the shipper’s responsibility to ensure the contents of the package comply with federal, state, and international shipping regulations.

Common Prohibited Items Include (but are not limited to):

  • Ammunition, explosives, and firearms
  • Alcohol (unless permitted through an approved alcohol shipper account)
  • Live animals or insects
  • Marijuana, CBD, THC products, and vaping devices
  • Perishable foods without proper packaging
  • Hazardous chemicals or flammable liquids (including perfumes and aerosol sprays)
  • Batteries not packed to carrier regulations (especially lithium-ion)
  • Currency, coins, or precious metals in raw form
  • Fake IDs, counterfeit goods, or pirated media
  • Any item prohibited by the destination country

Note: We reserve the right to refuse to ship any item that appears unsafe, improperly packaged, or potentially non-compliant with carrier or government regulations.

📦 After Shipment

Once your package has been shipped through Send It, please note the following important policies:

  • No Returns Once Shipped: Once a package has been processed/transacted, it cannot be returned or intercepted through Send It. You’ll need to work directly with the carrier for any delivery changes.
  • Carrier Communication Limitations: Send It does not have direct contact with carrier drivers. While we can help track shipments and provide carrier support contact information, we cannot reroute deliveries, schedule pickups, or communicate with drivers directly on your behalf.
  • Tracking & Delivery Status: We are happy to assist you in checking tracking information or providing updates, but we rely on carrier systems and timelines for delivery. Delays due to weather, mechanical issues, or recipient availability are beyond our control.

🔁 Returned Packages

If a package is returned for any reason (domestic or international), we’ll contact you. While shipping charges are non-refundable, we’ll work with you to:

  • Help correct any issues
  • Re-send the shipment (additional shipping charges apply)
  • Offer a discount if re-shipping makes sense

💼 Shipping Insurance

For valuable items, we strongly encourage customers to purchase shipping insurance to protect against loss or damage.

Important Notes:

  • Insurance is not available for USPS shipments when purchased through Send It.
  • If your package is lost or arrives damaged, AP Design will help you initiate an insurance claim with the carrier.
  • You and/or the recipient may be asked to provide:
  • Photos of the damage
  • Receipts or documentation showing the item’s original value
  • Details about replacement options
  • Insurance claims are reviewed and approved by the carrier, not by Send It.
  • Most approved claims are paid within 4 weeks, depending on the carrier.

We’ll walk you through the process and do what we can to assist, but final decisions rest with the shipping provider.
